It's snowing again today. During the handful of days when the grass was visible I'd been dreaming of spring. Realistically, spring won't really arrive here until just before summer, usually around the third week of May, but I've decided to pack up my little scene of fake snow and trees, snowmen and deer and replace them with something more evocative of sun, and new growth. I'm not quite sure what that will be yet, we'll see. I just might ignore the snow from here on out.
We had a late start around here this morning. C and I were up late celebrating 5 years together. How time flies! We made a great meal together, exchanged some small tokens of our love for each other and talked about lots of good things (they're secrets, though!). Today's a work day for us, but we're taking our time easing into the day, so nice to do once in a while.
Later, after some painting and sewing, I'll sit down with a cup of tea and plan our meals for the week, a suggestion many of you left the other day. In the past I have sort of dreaded this, and found it daunting to make so many choices at once, but you all made it sound so relaxing. Thanks everyone for leaving such helpful suggestions and so many great ideas! I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks too for all the love on Tuesday. Your comments and kindness were so appreciated on that very tough day. Part of me wishes I could have written her that letter while she was still here, but I know that wasn't possible. It did, however, give me an idea I'll share with you in the months to come.
Do you have any fun things planned for Spring? For C and I, a trip to NYC is in the works, and maybe for me a trip to Seattle. Also, a baby shower for a dear friend (any ideas?). I'd to make a few new things for the house. Maybe a rug for the bathroom, some crisp new pillowcases after we tuck the flannel ones away, and a new table cloth for the kitchen.
Time to head up to the studio and get working!
Happy friday, friends!
